In 2017, The NIC is celebrating an important milestone—our 50th anniversary. Since our founding in 1967 as Gallery A, The NIC has generated creative power and served as a cultural and physical anchor for Casper’s downtown and central corridor area. Through our collections, exhibitions, educational initiatives, and outreach programs we reach 45,000 children and adults each year while contributing to the cultural and economic vitality of the region.
As the only contemporary art museum in the state, we mean many things to many people, but to our community, we are the best place to find imagination, inspiration, and interaction. Our exhibitions and educational outreach programs encourage exploration where creativity and experience intersect. We are committed to bringing diverse groups together and exploring new ways to provide access for everyone. At the same time, we are reaffirming our commitment to the collection, exhibitions, and programs that will strengthen and sustain our organization.
One of the beloved community events that The NIC hosts is NIC Fest. Attracting more than 10,000 visitors to downtown Casper over a three-day weekend, NIC Fest is an exciting and vibrant community event. Artists booths, community booths, music, and activities for children and families, make NIC Fest one of the best summertime events in Casper, attracting people from around the state and region. This year, the event will coincide with the opening weekend of CNFR, attracting visitors from around the country.
Join us for NIC Fest 2017 happening Friday, June 9th from 5-9pm; Saturday, June 10th from 10am-8pm; and Sunday, June 11th from 10am-4pm.
