Workshops at the NIC

FELTING FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Workshop with Jamie Lacore

Saturday, December 10: 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. (Please pre-register and pay by December 2).

Fees: $40 for members
$30 for students with valid student ID
$55 for non-members

Supplies fee is $8 due at the beginning of the class. Bring a friend and save $10 off your class fee. All levels of experience welcome. For a supply list or to register email: zgallegos@thenic.org or all 235-5247.

Join the NIC for a festive introduction into the world of felt making! Explore the creative potential of felt and enjoy the tactile aspects of working with this versatile medium. In this class, we will use wet felting and needle felting techniques to create charming ornaments and felted soap bars. Vibrant colors combined with the warmth of wool will make these handmade pieces great holiday gifts! This class is for high school students and older.

Jamie Lacore is a multi-media artist who lives and works in Casper, Wyoming. Originally from Lawrence, Kansas, she received a BFA in Textile Design from the University of Kansas. To see what Jamie is up to on Instagram: @jamie_lacore_art

Preschool Picassos

Wednesdays: 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
2-5 year olds and their parent/adult
January 18 – February 22
March 15 – April 19
Fees: $35 for members and $45 for non-members per child/adult duo for each six-class session.
Class Description: Explore art concepts with your child in these age-appropriate, curriculum-related, and themed-structured six-week art classes. These classes engage young students in problem solving, creative expression and enhance fine motor coordination through exploration of different art materials.
The NIC offers families $15.00 off class fee for the second and third child for Preschool Picassos’ classes.

Home School Art

Wednesdays:
Grades: K-2 from 1 p.m.- 2 p.m. Grades: 3-8 from 2 p.m.- 3 p.m.
January 18 – February 22
March 15 – April 19
Fees: $40 for members and $50 for non-members per student for each six-class session
Class Description: Build skills and learn about different art media in a fun and engaging environment. These multidisciplinary, curriculum-based classes offer an unending variety of art projects and promote problem solving skills, communication and collaboration. The class will focus on art styles, concepts behind the art and personal interpretation, while enhancing students’ individual techniques through exploration of the elements of art and principles of design.
The NIC offers families $15.00 off class fee for the second and third child for Homeschool Art classes.
